Can We Save The World ?

Global warming, how can I help ?

Many believe global warming poses the greatest threat to mankind’s future on earth. Energy conservation is the lowest cost, easiest and simplest way to reduce the threat.

It’s hard for those who ask ‘how can I help’ to find comprehensive practical advice on what we can each do to assist conservation, reduce home energy use and the global warming threat, this website aims to do just that.

Most of us in the developed world are extraordinarily wasteful from an energy perspective, decide to be energy economical, or even better, energy frugal, everyone who does will reduce home energy use, save money, and be improving the world for future generations.

According to Department of Trade statistics:-

In 2005 energy used in homes was 29% of total UK energy, 66% of this was provided by gas, 20% by solid fuel with a little renewable energy, and 9% by electricity.

According to the DTI current average annual UK household energy costs for gas is £473, and for electricity, £338.

Until recent times we have been mostly unaware of the threat posed to our planet by what we can now see as our extravagant use of energy.

Department of Trade statistics for 2005 show that 61% of UK domestic energy was used for space heating, 23% for water heating, 13% for lighting and appliances, and 3% for cooking.

Our personal lifestyles contribute to the global warming threat as we are energy users. If we accepted the need for energy conservation, became energy aware, and energy frugal, we could reduce home energy use by more than 50% in quite a short period of time, and half our home energy costs saving £100’s every year.

Native American Wisdom

"In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations".

"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children".

It is what we do, each and every one of us, how we live, and the choices we make, that will decide both the quality of our own lives and the state of the planet we bequeath to the next seven generations and beyond.

The pages of this website provide comprehensive practical advice on how to reduce home energy use.

Make a difference, take steps now to safeguard the environment for future generations, each one of us can contribute by doing our bit.
